Wow, I thought maybe the storm got your power.
The weather has been insane. Ice storms, snow, wind. Oddly, we sailed through that. I got that "super flu" bullshit that, according to my theory, spread here by my daughter in Typhoid Mary fashion as she travelled through these bustling airplane - airport processes. I'm an innocent victim. That IS what happened and it buried my Christmas so I tortured both of them in retaliation. It was disgraceful. Thinking back on things, I deserved the super flu.

That's weird. COVID didn't faze me and the flu wrecks me. My kid ended up going to a clinic and getting tamiflu and  probably the standard five day antibiotic door prize. I think it's a gamble to go to those places in that you are exposing yourself to potentially more dangerous pathogens than if you just endure at home with over-the-counter drugs and poor judgement.  There's no cure, just whatever you can do to mitigate the symptoms.

I'll say this. My heart was in the right place by opting to eat weed instead of smoking weed, just to not smoke. But I totally misjudged how much of it to eat, which was ok for about 45 minutes until  the buzz got to be a bit much. Then my wife and kid showed up and I know my wife knows and she knows I know and she is punishing me harshly with her evil glares and GD scented candles that She lights any time she sense I may be happy. Maybe next time I will only need a fraction of what I did, which wasn't much.

It's hard for me to judge the weed I'm buying legally today from my perspective as like an authentic 1970's pothead. It's so cheap and I don't have any clue what any of their bullshit names or percentages mean. I'm just trying to hit a sweet spot for just enough money so it's nothing my wife cares about. That way it's like I can rely on her better judgement to compensate for my lack of. It all looks shitty to me this time of year because it's dried out and brown. Maybe I'm buying the shit that has hit it's shelf life or something. They must regulate that, like the health department or agriculture.

I have yet to buy any legal weed, not directly anyway.

Winter in Michigan is bleak. It's cold, grey, filthy and dark for months. It's incredible to me that members of our species would even settle here. Life could be so much easier. It reminds me of  all those depressing Russian books books I read in college. I always image Russia to be like Michigan in the winter, only all the time.
Russia was huge to Americans back then and it made us feel a lot better about being us. That is a big deal and it's precisely why we didn't have the domestic hatred toward our own nation by the disaffected portion of society here. It wasn't as fashionable to hate America back then because we were the good guys. Now we're the Romans.

I don't HAVE to do anything. I am Joe The Boss of my own body.
Starting after new years, I’ll only have Sundays off.

Trust me. I have been smoking weed for decades. It has never in my life been this easy to get, this cheap. I keep expecting to get arrested. It's unavoidable here. The stores are everywhere, there's huge light-up Vegas-style billboards on the highway. They email us, stick flyers in our mailboxes. They deliver. There's like these beautiful little weed mall with beautiful, friendly hippy chicks, music, free food... It's so surreal it's like being in a science fiction movie. It's hilarious.
Also, It's brilliant. This is like opium, bread and circuses. I'm onboard.

Honestly, I don't know how they make money. I'm looking at the buildings, the number of employees, trucks. They must have to do insane cartel-level volume to make it happen. Maybe They are.

Yeah. I used to...but I outgrew the motivation and ability gradually over the past few years.

I loved being young and American back in the hey day of the Soviet Union. It was the best feeling you could possibly image. It was like being able to fly. God bless my parents and my grandparents for putting me there and then.

You have no idea how much I owe those people. It is a miracle, a blessing that I was a child in the care of people that spoke a different language and came through Ellis Island. Because what motivated them to do that was vastly different than what motivated the people involved in what is happening  with this ICE shit.  In Detroit, back when I was a kid, it was like 100% bonafide Ellis Island European Immigrants. 100%.  All of our families in every neighborhood I ever grew up in or went to school in. That was a moment in history associated with Henry Ford, who was, like an Elon Musk of the day...literally. That brought everyone here. I don't know exactly when it turned weird, but it turned weird.
